El pasado 15 de mayo la Comisión de Asuntos Metropolitanos, encabezada por el Diputado del Movimiento Ciudadano, Salvador Zamora Zamora, presentó el Proyecto de Dictamen para establecer el Área Metropolitana de Autlán, que estaría integrada por los municipios de Autlán de Navarro, el Grullo y El Limón. De ser declarada, el Área Metropolitana de Autlán tendría una población de 86 mil 903 habitantes y una extensión territorial de mil 17 kilómetros cuadrados. Esta área reforzará la vinculación entre los municipios de la región en materia comercial, agrícola, industrial y cultural.
